Google Adsense is an online advertising program that enables you to earn money from your website or blog by displaying targeted ads from advertisers on your pages and then sharing the revenue you make with Google. Every time someone clicks on the ad, you get paid some amount (this amount depends on your AdSense rate and on the advertiser’s bid price). You can also earn money with Google Adsense by referring other bloggers and webmasters who are interested in joining this program or want to improve their AdSense revenue. This article describes several ways to do that.

Many people think that if they sign up and put some ads on their site that they'll be getting checks in the mail within days. Sadly (but maybe not surprisingly), that's not exactly how it works.

Sign up

Signing up is one of two things that you need to do in order to get started with AdSense. Go here and follow their easy steps for creating an account. Make sure you select US as your country, so you can be paid by check instead of direct deposit into a US bank account. You'll be asked to provide all sorts of personal details, but don't worry; everything is confidential, and none of your information will ever be used against you. You'll also have to create an AdSense username, which will represent your business from here on out—don't choose something too generic or use words that might hurt traffic when someone searches for it.

Add your site

You'll need to add your website to all three services in order for ads to appear on it. You can do so by logging into each service, clicking Account, and then clicking Add Site. Create content

You must be creating unique content (don’t copy other people’s work), engaging and interesting to readers. The more engaging your content is, and more actively you share it with your followers on social media, blogs, forums, emails and so on, the faster you will grow your audience. More importantly, people who find value in what you create will share your posts on their social networks with their friends. These shares are known as organic reach – which just means that if you were to pay for advertisement space then organic reach is essentially free.

Get traffic

If you have a website, it can make money for you with Google's AdSense program. Choose ad placement

The first step to making money with Google AdSense is deciding how you want your ads displayed. There are two basic options: above-the-fold and below-the-fold placement. Above-the-fold means that your ads will be shown immediately on a reader's screen (above what appears when you scroll down), and below-the-fold placement means that your ads will only appear after a reader has scrolled all the way down. Optimize your site

One of your first steps to earning income from your new website is to optimize it for search engines. This means making sure your site is easy for search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing to crawl, giving them an incentive to show your pages in their search results. You can do a lot of on-page SEO by simply adding relevant content and optimizing key elements like titles and headers. In addition, it’s also important that you choose a unique title tag and meta description for each page on your site. These two on-page elements are critical because they help provide context around what a visitor will find when they click through from the SERPs.
